I was just wondering if anyone has any plans to do anything big this year? any races planned? big trips to ride somewhere different? bike holidays? new Bike / upgrades planned? etc.

For me I plan to do a couple of rounds of the Mini Enduro series, we have a trip to Bike Park Wales booked in April and the biggy is a trip to Tignes in the French Alps in July for a big mountain adventure Cool

What's the plans then?

Nothing much.

The wife has taken to cycling again (after trying my single speed) and wants me to build her a new bike.

I will also be replacing the frame on the GT, as the threads have finally gone on the BB. I know I could probably repair it, but its a very old frame and just needs to be put out to pasture now.

Not sure what I am going to replace it with yet. I like my Virtue frame so much, that I may buy a new Virsa Mk2 frame. Got my eye on the grey one.

It weights more than the Mk1 (Cromo seat tube etc) and the handling is probably different - but it will take more modern components - like a tapered fork. Like the GT, it will probably be used for mostly commute/single-track/touring.

I may very well go for another 2nd hand GT frame though, or whatever pops up on fleebay that takes my fancy.

Thinking of upping the brakes on the Virtue to something more bling and putting the current LX trekking ones on the GT's replacement.

No big trips planned, but I have mapped out a few rides I want to try in the summer, including a tour from Brecon to Newport via Pontsticill and Talybont reservoirs and then along the old Monmouthshire Canal - as well as planned climb of Llangynidr (but not on the single speed though Laughing )

My plans for this year is
Bike Park Wales ( already done it this year but will be going again when it is a bit warmer)
We have a 4 day off road bike ride planned in may.
And a 12 hour bike race in august.
I'm already looking to next year as im going to do one of those guided MTB holidays.

Getting the MTB out and getting over the Moors a bit more this year.

Would dearly like to do Hellvelyn this year.

More 100 mile plus road rides than I did last year, which was far too few.

I'm going to try and do a few of the local XC races this year as well as a bit of crit racing, and possibly some of the offroad endurance ones.
Still trying and failing to lose a bit of weight at the moment Embarassed

Just remember, we may be closing our borders soon.

If Trump's wall works, we may follow suit and there's 5 Polish blokes in Merthyr who claim they can have it built in a week Twisted Evil
