Route Guide: Ingleby Forest Circular. Distance: 13.5 Miles - All off-road. Difficulty: Hard. Time: About 2 Hours. Starting point for this route is the Car Park at the top of Clay Bank. From here a short ride up the road will bring you to a gate on the left, go through this gate and there is a very steep climb, you will probably need to shoulder your bike for this. Don't worry, it's not to long and the reward is some spectacular views. From here follow the wide track of The Cleveland Way until you are almost at Bloworth Crossing the take a left and follow the old railway cut to the top of Ingleby Incline. Again, more superb views and a fantastic descent. After descending the Incline, take a right at the bottom and follow the track along to the farm at Bank Foot, turn right here, and going through a wide gate follow the path up through the forest to another wide gate. This is a very steep, technical climb known locally as "Turkey Nab". Follow this rocky track all the way to the top, do not veer off to the left where it says "No Motorbikes". You will join up with another wide track coming from your left, turn right onto this, and head towards Bloworth Crossing. After a while you will pass close to the top of the Incline again, on your left, you will see the characteristic rubble of the old sheds. Turn right here and make your way over to the Incline and descend it once again but this time turn left at the bottom. Follow this wide forest track as it skirts the lower levels of the forest until it eventually brings you to the tarmac road which climbs steeply back up to the starting point of this route, the Car Park at Clay Bank Top.
