Hi everyone ive saved hard over the past year and have a choice of two bikes, Canyon Spectral CF9.0 EX or Giant Trance Advanced 1, both are similar price and components. I haven't had any experience of buying from Canyon, but at least Giant would be local bike dealer. All comments much appreciated.

I prefer the look of the Giant but I'd want a damn good test ride on any bike of that value before I parted with my hard-earned cash.

You should look into customer care reviews for Canyan. That'll be a big factor in the decision on what bike you choose.

(I'm not saying weather it's good or bad, I've just seen mixed reviews for them, but the choice will be yours at the end of the day)

Seems there are lots of story's that suggest Canyons customer care falls far short of expectations..............

I'm a big fan of local dealers so you can have a face to face relationship with them in the event that there may be problems..............

I was looking at both of these, amongst others, very recently. Both look excellent. The canyon is a lot of bike for the money, but you won't get lbs support of course, should you have a problem. As Gunner points out, lots of criticism online over their customer service, but I'm sure there are many happy owners out there also who would vouch for them.
