Well I've bit the bullet and bought a second roadie, the Giant Defy 0 from Westbrook cycles in Stokesley. Only 10 weeks ago I bought a Carrera virtuoso from halfords which is very good, but once I had been to westbrooks I wanted something better. Only time will tell if the Defy will outgun the carrera but I think it will. The carrera is not for the bin though as I will use this for winter/bad weather rides and also on the turbo, I may even get the wife to use it lol

I think this is great value for money with the ultegra and 105 components the lightness of the alu frame and the better brakes upgraded from the Defy 1 which has had great reviews from many mags.

The colour scheme is great and I've added shimano R540 spd-sl pedals and a cat eye strada wireless computer. Hope you like

Phil

Very nice. I'd imagine the difference between the giant and the carrera will be night and day. I recon your av speed will go up by 2-3mph. Not to mention the climbing ability, it'll be like a rat up a drainpipe Very Happy

Awesome looking bike, you must be really pleased with it. Very Happy

And totally sensible thing to do with the Carrera, you don't want to be taking that Giant out in the Winter.

Very nice - have always loved the "compact frame" on the giant's as well.....

(Must resist going near Westbrooks!)

Hi Dan

yes plenty of miles but not as many as i would have liked.
Since starting cycling last June i've now managed to do the coast to coast with some of Stockton Wheelers and also my longest ride so far of 84 miles so coming along nicely.

i've also bought a new bike lol, i will post some pics when i get home.

Phil
