Call me a RUDDY mincer, why don't you!!!!!!!!

But, the front wheel on the Sirrus Sport decided to lose a few spokes on todays ride, luckily only 3 mile from home after a nice hilly 35 miler Tongue Tongue, severe wheel wobble giving me drag on the brakes Angry

Anyway, enough of my fun, whipped it off and to L.B.S. who quoted £36 for repair, and suggested might be better buying a new wheel at £45.

Long story ruddy short and all that rot, I decided to price some wheels up on internet, and saw these;

Shimano Pair Wheels R500 (Tiagra) Clincher

But what I ask, is the "clincher", I must admit it's a term I've never come across before.

These wheels would be for Specialized Sirrus Sport, running Armadillo tyres, 700x28c, would they be suitable?

I don't know!

Clincher = A rim for normal tires with tubes, as apposed to tubs.

Tubs = A tire and tube "all in one" type of thing, that you glue onto the rim.

So have you got it all sorted out, then?

And more to the point, did you get back out yet?

I've got 18 miles planned for today if it doesn't get too hot.

Yes, rode out to Great Ayton on Saturday on my Marin and picked up my wheel, £36 as forecast, all spokes replaced.
Took the bike out on Sunday morning, first thing, for a quick hour, LOVELY Very Happy Very Happy , very pleased with the job they have done, big thank you to Biketraks!!!!!

Will be getting in a 30 miler tomorrow on the Sirrus if it's raining, which it is here, right now, and is forecast for tomorrow. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Yes, more rain, and more rain forecast for the next week.

In some parts of the country a whole months rain fell in just one hour causing massive flooding and associated problems, especially in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, with many towns and villages being swamped and even the M5 motorway closed.

Still, I'll be on the MTB up on the Moors tomorrow Wink Wink

Even the M5 closed! You are probably safer on the moors, then.

I did manage my eighteen miles around the reservoir, and got quite muddy Smile .

It was fairly raining buckets here this morning. I decided to watch the Tour de France Smile .

Well, I didn't manage to get up on the Moors today, Easty, there was rather a bit of rain overnight, and I thought conditions up there might just be a tad too sticky, if you know what I mean.

So out came the Sirrus, favoured so far this year for its full length mudgaurds, rear rack and pannier bag, for my waterproofs, and off for a nice 35 mile jaunt around the low lying moorland roads, with a few nice climbs thrown in here and there.
Just managed to get back to my garden gate as the heavens opened and some massive peals of thunder rang across the sky!!!!!!

Well, I have heard that it has dried off a bit in the UK, so I hope you have managed to get out and enjoy some sun, and a bike other than the Sirrus (only because I know the other bikes would be complaining if you left them at home too long Smile ).

My OCR Team Replica is weeping on its mountings in my garage, I think I have only ridden it once or twice so far this year, the weather has been that poor!!!!!!!!

It sounds as if it will still be housed in the garage for the rest of the year then Sad .

As it is already August, I suspect that the weather won't improve much, although I suppose that September could be splendidly dry?
