hey all, while looking for parts for my GT build i have also been looking at starting a full suspension build.
does anyone own or used to own a kona dawg?
i like the style of them but looking for honest reviews or comments on quality and what they are like to ride compared to newer style full suspension bikes.
will be used for trail centre red route stuff and the like so dont need loads of travel so 120-140mm should be fine.

An interesting review here:

Seem to be plenty of goo reviews floating about on the web for this model.

Depends what year it is. I would be very hesitant to spend a lot of money on a 5+ year old bike these days, just because of how much change there has been in frame geometry lately.

I'm not saying it'll be a bad bike, but if you're comparing it to newer then you'll be disappointed. I say that as I have run an older 29er full suss and it was garbage compared to one a couple of years old.

Very much depends on what you want.

thanks for the reply martini. i havent had a go on a full suspension but fancy one for trail centres.
i dont spend a lot on my bikes my hardtail im using just now didnt cost me much to build and im hoping to rebuild my GT avalanche for about £150.
im open to other ideas but would be looking at around £400 for a 2nd hand bike so the kona dawg looked like a good choice.
