Hello guys and girls too !!
We are two friends who ride mountain bike at 12 years and 16 years.
For now our professions are IT Director / Consultant and Robotics Engineer.

We are thinking of organizing rides with guide for to 4-6 riders.
We like especially hard enduro rides but all kinds of rides are possible here.

We live in Guimarães, a small town in northern Portugal that is World Heritage of Humanity.
It is also the birthplace of the Portuguese nationality and where he was born and lived the 1st King of Portugal D. Afonso Henriques.

We could not be a week without ride on our bikes freely everywhere.
Even in winter we have moderate temperatures, is the time of year when we like more to ride.
Today we have sky clean and at 11 00horas 15 degrees temperature.

Our idea is you come here cycling 1 or 2 days to enjoy good weather and a wonderful bike ride in a relaxed atmosphere, can also bring your families and visit the city.

Only in our "backyard" have many options for rides without the need car travel.
In 30 minutes away by car we are in the Serra da Cabreira or Serra do Geres.

From anywhere in Europe is fast and cheap to fly to airport OPorto.
Guimarães is at a distance of 30m by motorway
Have many flight options, included Easyjet and Ryainer ...

Hi, I visited Guimarães when Bolton Wanderers FC played Vittoria Guimarães in the UEFA cup in 2005.
All I can say is......what a place!
Great bars, great restaurants, great people and a beautiful city.
The welcome we got from the locals was just fantastic, they were so friendly it was a joy to visit there and the memories will stay with me forever.
I would love to return one day, especially with the added bonus of riding some of the local trails.
Good luck with the venture guys.
Obrigado

Hi Dagster,

Thank you for your words, which still give us more courage for the first steps of our project.
Also make us feel proud to be Portuguese and Vimaranense ...

You just give the best description of Guimarães City, welcome is our main objective.

Since 2001 the historic area of the city is World Heritage of Humanity. In 2005 when you visit us it was good, but still improved a lot ...
In 2012 Guimarães was the European Capital of Culture in 2013 was European City of Sport.

It is a small town with many mountains around without logistics or loss of time we have many alternatives for bike rides.
It is also a very safe place and will feel comfortable walking around the city and see the castle, churches, museums and all the charming places of our medieval city.

Whatever of coming alone or with family, everyone can spend a great weekend or a few days.

We would like a lot if you were one of our first visitors for a bike ride and bring some friends.

We do not have everything organized, soon give more news.
Meanwhile I leave my email if would like to keep in touch. jcguimaraes@jcguimaraes.pt

Sorry for my poor English!

Below is one of your character fans after the game. If I remember correctly it was taken in Martins bar on the street with the fountain.Everyone we met in Guimarães was good fun and friendly, all the bars and restaurants we visited were reasonably priced and nice quality.

Great memories of Guimarães

31/12/2014 - Last ride of the year
We were presented with blue skies in this last day of the year and 12 Degrees to 11:00H.
A 40km relaxed ride with beautiful landscapes with the Serra do Geres and Sameiro (Braga) as background scenery.

Sending you pictures of other attractions of Guimarães we want you to meet.

Hello again
Our project has been slower than we wanted.
But can now visit the website at www.mtbinportugal.pt

We do not have everything set but we can already receive them in a more informal way for now.
If necessary we can provide bikes for your rides.
