So after a lot of advice from you guys I finally got my first proper roadie !

I'm over the moon, I went for a 2014 Merida Ride Alloy 94 (in team colours).

I have to say it's a proper weapon! Done a 16mile blast today and have to say it was extremely comfterable ride- love all the different hand positions available.
As I'm used to disc breaks I nearly ended up in the back of a car Embarassed so that lesson was soon learned.

Can't wait to get some serious miles on this bike

So enough of my talking here's some pictures

I know a Specialized bottle in the background- I weren't paying for a Merida one, need to get some bottle holders as I knicked one off me other bike

Now I know some people may not like the colour- I bloody love it, stands out as does not having a giant, Specialized etc etc

Cheers mate, I can't stop looking at it- can't wait to get out again on it! I'm like a kid at Christmas.

I'm really happy with my choice- not that I could have done it this well without all the advice that was given. So to everyone who helped me Thankyou very much.

I quite like you corona, sounds rather tasty too Wink

Very nice choice. Very Happy

Great that the first impressions of the ride are so positive too, you'll soon be banging out epic distances and keeping us all well and truly informed in true MTBE fashion we hope. Wink

Don't forget to add yourself to the Strava MTBE Club if you haven't already. Wink

Cheers Steve- people won't miss me wheezing by Confused

Cheers Gunner- yeah I'm well impressed I looked everywhere for a review but it's too new couldn't find one, so I went on past reviews of previous models- and my gut feeling after researching Merida.

I'm aiming for about 20miles tomorrow don't want to go too extreme too quick- I could of done more then what I done today (I weren't too "puffed out") but was running out of water, need to attach me other bottle holder

Will get involved with the MTBE Strava thanks for the link

Good choice fella!

Really nice bike. I was looking at a Merida but LBS didn't have my size in and I was offered too good of a deal on the Trek.

I really hope you're not gonna get matching clothing coz I'll have to nominate you for FPKW. Laughing

I also like how all the other "roadies" I passed acknowledged me today with the little head tilt Very Happy

FPKW = Full Pro Kit W**kers, a name given to out-of-condition MAMIL-types who wear all the latest professional team stuff and look like bags of s**t.

... a direct contravention of Rule #17 (with overtones of #18 ) on 'The V'; after all, we're not football supporters. Cool

Very eloquently phrased Steve. Wink

Have you seen today's gem of the FPKW in front of the team bus with the driver giving the "W" gesture? Laughing
