Full story and specs for those who are interested....

Designed to burn shreds and turn heads - this is my Kinesis Decade Virtue - Medium in Apple Green. Rescued for a steal - from a LBS somewhere in Cheshire, this frame had been collecting dust on a display rack for years and never built up.

One of the first Virsa Mk 1's, only the initial 50 (10 small, 20 medium, 20 large) carried the "Virtue" name, before protests from Felt forced the name change. These 50 also carry the 10 year decal on the seat tube, that later frames do not.

Of these 50 - only so many were green and, of which, only so many still survive - thanks to seat-tube cracking problems - so it's a bit of a rare beastie - plus it's got Skulls on it - how awesome is that ???? Twisted Evil

Frame : Kinesis Decade Virtue 2009 - Prestige Japanese Tange Steel
Fork : RockShox SID RCT3 Solo Air Forks - 9mm QR 2015
Headset :AEST (well - it was free) in gold
Stem : Race Face Ride XC 90mm (customised)
Bars : Race Face Turbine 20mm Riser Bar (gold)
Grips : Token Lock-on (actually quite good - have these on the GT also)
Seat-post: BLB Track (Brick Lane Bikes) in gold (customised)
Saddle - Charge Spoon Stealth
Seat-post Clamp : Brave Pogo Double Bolt (gold)
Chainset: Raceface Ride Narrow Wide 175mm
Chainring: Hope Retainer Narrow Wide 34T Black (not pictured) Updated 08/05/17
Chainring Bolts : E-Thirteen Singlespeed (gold)
Chain : KMC K810SL Kool 1/2 3/32 Chain (gold)
Chainstay Protector: Race Face (not really needed but looks good)
Swapouts: DMR 10mm Horizontal Mk1.5 (customised)
Chaintugs DMR 12mm with 10mm adapters
Spocket : Gusset 1-ER 16t
Spacers : VeloSolo (gold)
Lockring : Token 12t (gold)
Bottom Bracket : Shimano M810 Saint
Pedals : NC-17 Sudpin I (gold-ish)
Brakes : Shimano Deore LX T65 Treking Brake (surprisingly good)
Rotors : Aztec Stainless Steel Semi-Floating Disc Rotor 180mm front and back (black and gold) with gold rotor bolts.
Brake Disc Adapters : Reverse (gold) with gold bolts
Wheels : 26" Hope Hoops Tech XC with Pro 4 Hubs in black
Tyres : 26" Halo Skinwall Twin Rail - black and tan
Skewers : A2Z Cromo in gold

Weight (if you care about such things) can't tell you yet, but even with those heavy tyres and tubes, it's very very noticeably lighter than the GT.

I could have put carbon instead of gold on a lot of it, but it would not have looked as good and, besides, I care little about the odd gram here and there.

Cost : Well you could buy a built-up Virsa Mk2 for a lot less, but would it look as good or ride as sweet ? I think not.

This is my first ever (and only) build using brand new parts. I tried not to build a "concourse" bike, but I may have strayed a little towards that.

This has taken 2 and half years to build and I have enjoyed every part of the process, from concept, to researching and sourcing the parts, to final construction.

There are some parts that will be upgraded in time (brakes headset etc) but boy am I happy with the result.
