Damn it was cold!!!!

Damn it was cold this morning, took the road bike out for a couple of hours, setting off at 0930 and within 6 minutes I had hit a pocket of mist which seemed to last for about the next 45 minutes of the ride. I can only thanks God that I decided to put another base layer on before I set off, and had the good sense to put my overshoes on Embarassed

Heading off towards Hutton Rudby I turned off to follow the road to Kirklevington Offenders Centre and was glad of the steep climb at Foxton Bridge to reduce the wind chill effect and let me warm my hands up a bit.

Went on through Yarm and round the back of Stockton to end up at Thorpe Thewles, then turned round and back through Stockton via main roads and then through Ingleby Barwick to come out at the Fox Covert and ride over to Hilton and home.

Not one of my more enjoyable rides, I am used to going in the opposite direction, over the Moors or down to Northallerton, Hornby, etc., far too much traffic on this route.

Anyway, not a bad morning distance wise, 37 mile in 2hours 31 minutes Wink

Cold coming back from work in the early hours 1:00am. I have thick socks and Army boots on.

Gunner, You must be keen to get out on these freezing cold mornings so early, it would be a shock Shocked

for me, getting out of my cosy warm bed. Must be getting a little soft in me old age Laughing
