|
|
I'm taking part in my first L2B bike ride this weekend.
Have got a 7:30 start time which I'm hoping will be enough to get out infront of the masses and novelty super hero suit wearing groups.
Is anyone else from MTBE taking part?
Thanks,
Ant

I did that, 1st time iv ever done it.
Made it up all the hills and had to shout at people to move over going up Bitchling deacon! but took forever to get out of london! 9am start time to late i think.
Did 66 miles all in the most in a day for me, so well happy. |

| The ride stats look very similar to The Great North Bike Ride if anyone up north wants to do a similar type of ride. |

Yeah London was manic. I was suprised at how consistant the bunching was. Thought you might pass from group to group but it was just a constant flow of people.
We had 7:30 start which was ok. We had a 5 mile warm up to the start and then a couple miles back to my Bro's at the end so was a good 60 mile day all in.
I was really pleased that I didn't walk any of the hills. Massively frustrated that I lost my smallest front cog after the start, so had to do ditchling in middle front. Has made me realise that hills are what I need to work on. Just cant keep any speed on them. Definately the area that I will try and improve on next year. _________________ Mongoose Amasa Comp 2008 - a.k.a "Triggers Broom" |

They should have a white line up the centre of the road with walkers on one side and cyclists on the other, properly marshalled. I had the same on there when we went to see the Wincanton Classic a few years ago*. Lots of tuggos walking all over the road.
* Can't remember the year but we struggled up Wilson Avenue in 42 x 21 to view it and Gianno Bugno broke away there to win in 53 x 13 .............. _________________ At my age, I should know better! |
