Morning All

Need some info on accomodation near trail centre
A few of us are planning a weekend there from Friday 22nd June, plan is to do the D/H on friday, (do they offer uplift service?) then a few beers local, Saturday do the trail centre then maybe into Durham for a night out on Saturday... So need somewhere to stop local to trail centre fri night and somewhere in Durham sat night...?

Is it worth stopping an extra night for the Durham night out? Is it any good?
Thanks

chris.

How close do you want to stay to Hamsterley?

If you don't mind travelling, Barnard Castle is only twenty minutes away by car, has plenty of places to eat and drink and has a few campsites nearby.

I can also recommend the campsite in Middleton In Teesdale (Daleview).

Durham is a good night out but I'd recommend getting a B&B in Durham as it's nearly an hour away from Hamsters.

My apologies, I assumed you were camping for some reason!

Barnard Castle has a good few B&B's and pubs which have rooms.

Hey,

there are 2 B&Bs in hamsterley village, you then just drop down the bank to get to the main visitor centre or head through hamsterley to get to the DH car park. Below is a link to one of them.

http://www.dale-endhamsterleybandb.co.uk/

There is a pub in the village as well, and it isn't to far from Bishop Auckland which may have a few bars, I'm not sure.

As for Durham, Yeah its a canny night out there is a good mixture of Bars etc. Pretty sure there is a Premier inn pretty near the centre so you should be able to get a few rooms in there reasonably cheap like.

Hope that's useful.
