Getting up at dawns crack for a ride... lucky dawn Wink

Riding nice singletrack and avoiding the boggy bits round errington and dunsdale

Bending a tooth on my middle ring, had to finish the ride on the big n little ones.

Taking a picture where I tried to fix it.

Realizing that cannondale cranks need a special extractor to remove them

Running round bike shops trying to find said extractor with no luck

Contemplating hitting said cranks with a big hammer to get them off.

Fitting new tyres... mmm shiney black rubber with knobbly bits

Now thinking about filing said bent tooth down so I can use the middle ring until I get hold of some extractors or hitting it with a hammer to remove said crank and swap the ring over. I'll leave it to the public vote.

is it a steel ring phil? if so, bend it back and give it a once over with a blow torch. cool it down a bit rather than letting it cool naturally. this will harden the tooth making it less prone to bend. only downside to this is heat treated steel has a bigger tendancy to snap.

a bloke once told me " if you've got a hammer, you've got a toolbox" Wink
