MAY FORUM RIDE.........

SUNDAY: 18TH MAY 2008

START TIME: 0900

START LOCATION: GRIBDALE GATE CAR PARK

ROUTE:

From the car park climb towards Monument then turn off and head to Kildale via Bankside Farm. Climb past Park Nab and cross Battersby Moor to Armouth Wath, then cross Baysdale Moor on a nice fast track to Holiday Hill, then cross Great Hograh Moor to meet the Westerdale road and drop down into Hob Hole. Climb out of Hob Hole and turn left to cross Kildale Moor, taking a right at the ruined farm to climb over towards Leven Vale and Warren Farm. Fast downhill into Kildale, then climb up through Bankside Farm and back through the woods to Gribdale.

Some great climbs, some long fast descents, some awesome remote views make this a great ride.

Approx mileage and hopefully a route map to be posted next week

Sounds good to me too but just as you're crossing Baysdale Moor I'll be stepping on to the Eurostar at St Pancras so won't be on this ride!

Swaledale's still planned for the 4th; I'll post something on that thread as a reminder to everyone.

Sad Sad Wont be able to make this forum ride either. I'm doing the Open5 adventure race in Broughton, Cumbria.
BTW, I've noticed that there are events all over the place that weekend, from Triathlons to Trailquests & road races. Shocked

Hi Gunner, looks like I should be able to make this ride. I had it in my head that it was the 11th which I can't do. Looks like Crispy might be coming along. Please could you get my good side on any future pics? Very Happy

Glad you'll be able to make it, Richard.

This is a proper XC ride, with some excellent variations in terrain, so there's going to have to be plenty of pictures to show people how lucky we are to have this area to ride in, right on our doorstep.

Shave, and put on your best cycling kit Laughing Laughing Laughing
