gotta be a camelback gunner. i like the idea of me having accessible water throughout the whole ride with the possibility of it running out being practically nil! i always found a water bottle lasted me 2 minutes and then i was gasping half was into a ride.

if its a long ride i prefer a camal back as i tend to sweat for fun and it keeps me hydrated for the whole ride.

A water bottle holds a relatively small amount of liquid, is in the line of fire of mud, is more difficult to take a quick drink from on the go and you wouldn't want to keep your tubes, tool, flapjack, etc inside it. And landing on a camelbak when you fall off is preferable to straight on your spine. Camelbak every time*.

*I'll occasionally have a quick spin along the old railway/round Guis itself on an evening in which case I'll just take a bottle and take my chances with punctures etc.

Camelback on the MTB (when I use it!!!) and Bottle on the Roadie.....Why CB on MTB? Sick of losing bottles!!! Why Bottles on roadie? Terrain not as rough and I know it sounds a bit anorak, but the slight weight in the bottles help lower the centre of gravity (a bit!!) Very Happy
