Try Wiggle Greg. I would hedge my bets on Bikescene as they're a "Spesh" dealer.

Found one on edinburgh bicycles, also has a list of what fits what model,

worth a look if you ever need to replace one

Hi Gunner,

I was on a down hill with lots of loose branches and a big one got stuck in my back wheel and must have ripped my mech/ hanger off, glad that the xtr mech still looks ok.

Tried to do a temp fix taking off the mech and convert to single speed but the chain was to long, should have took a chain tool....

Sounds about right, same thing happened to me on Eston Hills many years ago, and again in Battersby Plantation.

Nothing for it but a long jog home pushing the bike Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I was lucky as it was at the back-end of the ride and it was mostly down hill!

Are these hangers easy to set up, looks like its only 2 bolts

cheers

The hanger should be easy enough to fit, but if I remember correctly a special tool is used to check its alignment once fitted, as poor alignment can have a big impact on smooth shifting.

Dunno about spesh's but on my GT the frame and hanger were shaped to fit one onother so you couldn't go wrong fitting it - I think others are usually the same. They're an expensive way of buying a small piece of metal, but they've got you by the short and curlys pretty much!

You are not missing any spacers, or washers are you from the hanger to the mech. Sorry, but that's the best I can think of, apart from maybe you needing to tackle the problem using the "HIGH-LOW" screws on the mech itself to correct this, or maybe a cable adjustment.........

Try Googling for the tool I mentioned, if you can find out what it does and how, you may be able to bodge around without it, i.e. it must make suggestions as to what to do if the tool shows your hanger is not aligned, if you see what I mean Confused Confused Confused

If you can't find the tool you can use a couple of adjustable spanners....hard to describe but it's all in THE BIKE BOOK 4th edition....if you wanna borrow it let me know.
