There's nothing to stop you using a MTB on a Turbotrainer, Gouldy, apart from anything product specific in the Turbo manafacturers guidelines.

It does help if you have a slick tyre fitted, but it's not essential, and anyway, it's often better to keep your turbo sessions relatively short 20-40 minutes so that you can focus on the intensity of the session for better results.

You can pick turbo's up quite cheaply as I did with mine, on some of the E Bay shops, particularly this one...........

One thing to bear in mind about using a turbotrainer, Gouldy, is the amount of sweat you will produce whilst using it, even over a relatively short period of time, like 20 minutes.

This can have a very damaging effect on your bike if you don't take precautions to prevent it, also consider where you will be using the turbo, I use mine in the garage on a concrete floor, so no real problems regarding damage to carpets etc, and I use a old bath towel to protect my frame and bars Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I don't think I'd have the patience to get away with rollers Twisted Evil

I'd much rather grab a bargain like this;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160254699316&ru=h ttp%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_n kw%3D160254699316%2509%26_fvi%3D1

And get straight up and running, only takes about 45 seconds to set up anyway.

No Marty, they're not noisy really, and any way I bang the radio on to Galaxy for some R&B dance music to train to.

Patience= I don't think I could just "get on" the rollers and ride, I think it would take a bit of getting used to, which the turbo doesn't, plus the turbo allows me to alter the resistance quite easily Wink
