This is my next event, on Saturday 20th June

http://www.darrington.org.uk/Fun%20Run.htm

I ran it last year, as my first ever competative event & got nowhere near the course record Laughing Laughing

I did a 36:53, & placed 30th/152 finishers (not bad for a first one, I guess, & not knowing what to expect -and my longest distance at that time!)

It starts by the Church, through the 'red circle', west towards Carleton, over the cross-roads, turns south (left) by the marked Windmill, down to Wentbridge (lots of Robin Hood & 'Great North Road' connections), up Wentbridge Cutting, turning left just before the A1, back to the crossroads, turning right, & finishing by the Church

If I can beat 35:00, I'll be happy, but knocking a full 2 minutes off would be even better Wink

Well, it's next Saturday & I'm not sure of a 'forecasted' time now Confused

I've not really bet 31:30 for my runs home recently, as they're my 'benchmark time'

Having said that, I've only run to work & back 4 times this month (today was 4th)
However, I managed a 30:03 this evening Very Happy (leaving at 21:55)

So, perhaps things are on track for that desired 35 minutes??

(I've not received my race number yet though............)

Well, I've been & run it.
Thankfully it was a nice cool day, with a very light drizzle at the mid-point (only for a couple of minutes)

It seemed harder than last year, but maybe that's because I tried a bit harder on Wentbridge cutting Confused

As for my finishing time?, I'm not sure, but if I managed to decipher the time-keepers writing correctly, I got either 35:23, or 36:23

I'll have to wait & find out, & as for my finishing position............. absolutely no idea!

Well let's hope it was the 35:23, that would surely put you on your "desired" time of 35 minutes. Smile

It would indeed, but last year it took about a fortnight for the results to appear on-line Shocked

For some reason, they don't put them on http://www.ukresults.net/index.html either Confused

It would indeed,

Much to my surprise, I've got an e-mail with the results attached.

Sadly they're not as good as I thought, although I did mention deciphering the time-keepers writing.

I was 31st/153 at 36:52............ one lousy second faster Crying or Very sad

2008 = 36:53 & 30th/152
