Not sure, could be some long haired teenager

It's the Aire Valley RT (or similar) as far as I'm aware, but I can't see number 99 in the results.

Number 99 is listed as (in the pre registered entrants) Tom Jolly (Aire Valley Racing Team), & is an Under 16.

I guess he didn't finish, which is why he's not showing

Good to see so many people competing although the mix of ability from GB internationals to complete novices must make the lap scorers job tough with all the lapping that is inevitable.
Not that I'm suggesting you were lapped Rich Very Happy

Top 10 possibility for Marty Question

I appear to have gained 2 places Very Happy, now I'm 52nd!

However, it does state that the results aren't fully ratified, so I could still lose them Laughing

The scorers in question (they're the YCCA regular lap-keepers) are very much used to it, as they officiate up to National Championship level, & even at the World Cross Championships when they were at Leeds in 1992

The only difference for these evening series events are that '@ 1 lap'/'@ 2 laps'/etc... isn't notated in the published results

Oh I was, & fully expected to be, especially with riders like my namesake*, Steve Barnes*, Matt Denby, Jough Watson & Mick Young** in the top 20,

Not sure, he'd have to be going some!

*Ex GB squad riders

*Chris Youngs brother, & almost as good a rider!

Then... it's another one on Sunday.

'We're' up at Helmsley, racing in the grounds of Duncombe Park, as a support event to the Ryedale Grand Prix

I guess I'm ashamed to say I didn't got to 'Round 4' at Duncombe Park on Sunday.

The thought of driving 70 miles in order to 'get a good kicking', & then driving the same back didn't appeal as much as it should have done.

And timewise it'd have been an hour & 1/2 to hour & 3/4hours each way to receive that 'kicking' Rolling Eyes
For a 3/4 hour race.

I still went out for 3 hours though (like I did this morning too)

Russ Downing won the 'Rumble' though

Anyway, 'Round 4' (Wed 17th) is easier, as it's only a few junctions further westbound on the M62, being roughly a mile away from jct 26.

It was a soggy, boggy mess last November, where you had to stand up to pedal downhill!!!, but the general concensus of opion was that it'd make a great course in the dry

Or at the very least, rather slippery

It was a very fast course, with the sole hazard of freshly mown grass, that clogged block & derailleurs up Rolling Eyes

There was a surprise attendee, the National junior Cyclo-Cross champion!

Sadly I DNF'd, somewhere along the line, I picked up a puncture Mad

The tyre was soft when I got there, so I just pumped it up.

I'm annoyed, as I'd picked up about 15- 20 places in the 6 laps till I packed; the back end was slidingout on corners & it wasn't fair to risk taking anyone else with me if it went.

Thanks.
Roll on Wednesday 1st July, it's a (reasonably) local one, I can ride there (30 minutes at a steady pace)

The cause of the puncture?
I dug out a big thorn yesterday morning, but I had parked up very close to a Hawthorn hedge though Embarassed

Almost here, & I feel fine.

Just so long as it's not a horribly humid day/evening

Brigshaw School at Kippax, for anyone who might be local to Wakefield/Leeds/Castleford/Pontefact

Details on the 'YCCA' website

Guess what!? Very Happy

It was!

Blimey, was it a horrible, sticky evening!

Not sure of the results, but at a guess, just after 'midfield'

The Sandpit was as grim as it was last year - seemed deeper this year though Confused

Erm....pretty grim reading

I was 40th/67 overall & 15th/27 in Vet 40-49

I think, going by other finishers, I'd been up to about 30th at one point, but faded. Badly! Laughing

Anyone free in North Yorkshire on Sunday 19th July??

Come on down & have a go!!

There's an event at Ampleforth College
The times shown by the BCF are wrong though!

These are the correct start times
1. Under 14's @ 11:00am. £3.00 entry (I think)

2. Over 14's @ 12:00 noon. £7.00 entry (has been so far in the series)

MTB'ers are welcome to compete.
However, I believe the commisaires have the right to insist on Club colours, or plain shirts, even for an event like this
(as it could be considered a regional championship)
But, don't quote me on it!!!

http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/nmsruntime/saveasdialog.asp?lID=11913 &sID=122
See 'Point 5.7'

Instead... If anyone does want to compete, e-mail Darrell via the links on the 'YCCA' home-page (linked in my signature) & ask.
It might save potential arguements if you turn up in your Kona/Specialized/Trek/etc... shirt

Would have loved to, but guess what?

I shall be passing the very place on my bike, whilst completing a 125 mile ride in aid of a local charity for cancer sufferers, so I'm afraid I won't be able to make it.
