Hi all
I have just bought some used Shimano XT shifters off Ebay. All is well with them except on the right hand shifter I want the thumb lever to shift up the gears and finger lever down, I understand this is possible but how? No instructions were with the shifters. (reason I want it this way round is due to my other bike being set up like this

Regards

It's a rapid rise dérailleur you want. The shifting youve heard about is either index finger/thumb (typical shimano) or thumb/thumb (SRAM) and you can use both I believe with the XT shifters

Ok thanks, I thought my current XT rear mech would be OK, It was operated by SHIMANO DEORE LX ST-M585 HYDRAULIC BRAKE/GEAR lever combo, Any recommendations for a rapid rise rear mech?

Depends what set up you are using.

Shimano got rid of RR mechs along with dual control levers a few years now.

XT/XTR can still be had 2nd hand but are only limited up to 9speed gearing, so if you have a 10 sped set up, you're out of luck.

For RR mechs, look for spring type - Low/Normal in the description.
