I'm in need of a better lid than what I have, its not the best shape for MTB and it took a knock at Coedy the other week.
I'm stuck between getting a full face or a general trail helmet. Granted most of my riding will be on trails around North Wales (Degla, Coedy etc) however I'd like to get into more downhill sort of riding.
Chain reaction cycles are selling a 661 comp full face and oakley goggles as a bundle for £75. What have other people done in my situation? _________________ Formerly known as TommyC

I'd just get the bell super r2 mate. It might be a bit more pricey, but works out about the same as having two helmets. I have the Giro Feature and the 661 comp you mentioned, but given the choice I'd have a Bell Super r2. _________________ Trek Scratch Air 9

I have a Super 2R and it's absolutely superb, light, good ventilation and comfortable. The removable chin guard is brilliant, it takes seconds to remove / fit and makes pedaling up hills a far more pleasurable experience than in a full face. _________________ It's not the big that eat the small, but the fast that eat the slow...

Went to tweeks and tried the Bell Super 2R. It s a nice helmet but just that little too expensive as I also needed a pair of goggles.
I've ended up ordering a 661 comp lid and Oakley L frame goggles from CRC. Grand total of £90. Will make the rest of the month a little easier to deal with financially. _________________ Formerly known as TommyC
