Brake drop??

How do I measure the drop of the direct mount calipet. Spec sheet says 57mm but all the clipers I look at look bigger than my calipers

Road calipers come in two standard sizes:-

Close clearance for bikes without guard clearance = 39 mm when brake shoe is at highest point to 49mm at lowest point.

Deep clearance for bikes with guard clearance = 47 mm when brake shoe is at highest point to 57mm at lowest point.

Of the two, the 39/49mm is by far the more common.

Depth is measured from a central point between both arms and the centre of the pivot bolt.

thanks for your reply, my bike dose have guard mounting point so i will need the deeper set.

Dave, these are quite hard to find if you want decent quality ones. I recommend the Shimano BR-R451.
