Hi

I know we all have our own preferred ways of cleaning chains, so I was wondering if any of you who use Chain Cleaning Devices have tried the elaborate looking Kettenmax Device?
The YouTube adverts certainly make them look a delight to usebut I wonder if thats the case in real life.

Thanks

Don't know about the Kettenmax, but I use this one and find it so unbelievably easy to use.

Like buying a new car when the ashtrays are full I just buy a new bike when the old one needs any sort of cleaning... Laughing

Damn that's cheap! I have the Muc-Off one and its the fiddliest thing in the world, plus the chain never glides through the device as smoothly as it does for the man on the advert Laughing

I read an article (I think on KMC website) discouraging use of these - so I have not taken the plunge

I am motor trade. i throw obnoxious chemicals at it then blast it and the bike to the other side of the carpark and back with the jet washer Shocked , give it a quick dry with paper toweling. leave the bike in my office by the radiator for a few hours then re lube. I do this approximately once every 2 weeks or so depending on the weather. the whole process take no more than 3 minuets of my time. (sorry the firms time Embarassed )

i never have any premature chain ageing problems, and yes I use fully synthetic engine oil Shocked Shocked I know it is considered wrong because it holds contaminants in solution but it is free for me and it works great for a canal side commuter. Cool Cool

I deffo cant be bothered to faff around with silly chain cleaning devices.

That Kettenmax system looks like it spits cleaning fluid all over the place.

Personally, I have been using the Park Tools chain cleaner for the past year & half, it seems very good, and you can even buy replacement brushes for it so you don't have to buy a complete new one.

I use cheapo citrus degreaser off ebay for the drivetrain.
