And what a ruddy good event it was, thoroughly enjoyed watching it on the telly.

Nostell #146
A cool, but not cold morning

Started at the back, after catching up with Stella (our ex-Nurse, who'd I'd also seen at the Trunce)

Took the first 3/4 mile quite steadily, working through quite a few, catching & passing Emma, who was dragging a seemingly reluctant Stewart along

Stewart, is her Whippet

See pic below - not from Saturday though

Seemed to struggle for an 82nd/316 @ 25:56

Wasn't sure which one I was heading to this morning, it all depended on a response to my offering (on FaceBook) to loan a pair of SPD pedals to a member of Wakefield Triathlon Club

I decided on Pontefract (event 314), & was highly delighted to see my buddy Kirsty there,as her boyfriend is one of the Run Directors (she's a RD at Thornes Park)

Due to talking to her, & various others, it was near the back of the pack start, again
Spent a bit of time on the lap of the lake, slowing, side-stepping, etc..... All my own fault
Managed to pace myself reasonably, & felt quite happy for a self-timed 24:34 &, I think it was 'tag 57'

Have to wait for the officials

Officially 57th/373 @ 24:34

A long, long way, from my 5th place at the first ever run there, with a 21:20

Nostell #149 on the 3rd

Once more, due to talking ended up fairly well back, with maybe 20 behind me
And, almost walking/'hemmed in', for the first 10-15 seconds
Oh well

Managed to get through a few, & pick up places here & there, 'leap-frogging' to someone ahead, shadowing him/her, to get breath back, then same again

One of my usual markers, Lisa (wife of a very good CX rider/fell-runner, who I've known for 25 years +), was well ahead - we usually tussle a bit, then finish within 20 seconds or so of each other
I managed to catch her, on the last ascent, & just put my nose in front, for about 5 seconds
Her hubby, Phil, was watching, & shouting at us both

51st/178 @ 25:29

Nostell Priory ParkRun # 150 this morning, which was a paced event
I had intentions of staying with the '24', but it didn't happen
I did, however, stay ahead of the '25'. which was a bonus!!

Nostell #152 yesterday

Started a bit close to the back, & wedged in again
Oh well, just took it easy

I thought I'd crossed the line, as my watch differs by 24 seconds to my official time, @ 24:51

56th/221 @ 25:15

Missed Saturdays ParkRuns, as I was working a day-turn

There is. however, a new run starting on Saturday (29th)
I won't get to the inaugural event, as I'm working an early-turn

http://www.parkrun.org.uk/rothwell/course/

It's slightly annoying, as I ran the first events at both Nostell Priory, & Pontefract

As of Saturday 15th.......
Nostell #155 (1st event = 26th July 2014)
Pontefract #322 (1st event = 7th May 2011)
