Don't know about that particular model, but a few years ago when I was having a look at Norco's I found them to seem quite heavy and was put off immediately.

Wow,glad you asked as I hired one of these in Northern California in 2013 !!!
It's a budget bike that does exactly what it says it's for ,a recreational XC.
The fork was quite spongy(RS Dart if memory serves) and the brakes(Tektro )were actually pretty good considering.
As Gunner said it's on the heavy side but not overly to hinder you on uphill sections.
It had 27.5 wheels with WTB tyres which seemed to hold well stony over hardpack (very hard) but would be useless in British conditions.
It seemed pretty capable for its price range and I see no reason why it can't be a good starter for a budding noobie.Way better than anything Halfords or Decathlon can sell you.
Bearing in mind this was almost 5 years ago but I hope this helps.

storm 29er tried it but didnt buy though the price was good £295.0 didnt feel 'right'
