Hi

Just after some advice.

I am doing a charity bike ride from Liverpool to Leeds in May along the towpath on my Trek Marlin 5 29er.

Looking for some tyres that anyone can recommend for use on the towpaths but still good on roads.

I'm currently training with Schwalbe Hurricanes but not too sure about them?
Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

I commute along towpaths daily, current favourite tyre for this time of year is Panaracer Gravel king SK.

In the summer I use Schwalbe Marathon supreme evolution. Fastest rolling Moutain bike tyre I have ever tried. crap in the current weather though.

I do regularly switch tyres to suit different times of the year.

Thanks for the reply.

Can't seem to find any Panaracer Gravel king to fit, my Trek is a 29er.

Also the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme Evolution are way too slick for me lol Laughing

Have been thinking of purchasing some Continental Race King, but can only find foldable ones in stock. Do these fit as secure as the beaded type. Never used foldable ones before and I'm not too sure Confused

Cheers

Mine too is a 29er. the actual wheel size for a 29er is 700c the same as road race bikes, it is the large hi volume mountain bike tyres that makes it measure 29". You can fit any 700c tyre of the right width.

I am currently running Panaracer Gravel king SK (small Knob) 700 x 40c ( 40-622)

Hope this helps
