After careful (5 seconds worth) of deliberation I thought I'd post this and see if we get any takers.....date and time TBC as I have a pretty hectic schedule at the minute.

What I'm proposing is a ride from Yarm Station - Gt Ayton possibly onto Guisborough, time permitting.

The route is as follows:-

Yarm station - Crathorne via A67 then NCN route 52 into Gt. Ayton. If it goes onto Guisborough we will go as follows:-

From Gt. Ayton via Suggits (can't go to Ayton without a visit!!) along the main roads past Pinchinthorpe (where the forum rides start) right just after into Guisborough T/C.

Now then this is where it gets interesting....if time is definitely on our side ie we set off from Yarm in the morning, then providing we still feel fresh(ish) we could go onto Redcar via Yearby or Saltburn via Upleatham.

Tell me what you think and I'll set a date/time asap so we can work out who can/can't go....I will try to organise this for a day when everybody wanting to do it can.....It will probably be in my Summer hols 13th July - 27th July so that'll give you an Idea. Wink

I'd give it a go Denny, date and time permitting, but what about perhaps a shorter ride to start with that perhaps more people might commit to, maybe about one and a half to two hours, over a fixed, definite route?

Okay then G. We'll do the Yarm Station - Gt. Ayton - Yarm Station via NCN52 which goes through Crathorne, Hutton Rudby and Seamer into Gt Ayton (Suggits for a brew and a natter) then return by the same route but at Crathorne go down the back road to Picton and into Worsall then back to Yarm Station.

Sound good? will be about 25 - 30 miles about 2 - 2.5 hours at a steady pace.

It's gonna have to be a weekday ride (as the missus works Sat/Sun) and will probably be early doors...about 0900.....Is this a problem for anyone?

Week-day will be fine, 9:00am. I'll set off from Norton, 6 miles to Yarm, about 1/2 hour ride.......Count me in.

No problem G...there'll be plenty more opportunities before the summer is out I'm sure.....

Right then for those interested the proposed date is:-

Monday 14th July

Yarm Station 0900hrs

If this is not possible for everyone wanting to do this ride I'm open to suggestion the only thing that is concrete is the time, start/finishing point and the route...actually the route may be open to suggestions on the day but the out leg is not going to change.

A Road bike would be an advantage but not entirely necessary, pace will be moderate (about 10 - 15mph)
