Well like Gunner I took advantage of the good, if not cold weather yesterday, and decided to go for a quick last albeit not as far...I just went to Yarm and back, 50 minutes round trip for the 12 mile journey or there abouts. But I've woke up this morning to a dull pain on the side of my left knee (not good). Straight away I thought of IBS (Iliotibial Band Syndrome)....so it looks like a few days/weeks off the bike for me then!! Crying or Very sad better to be safe than sorry Wink

I bet it's been that climb back up out of Yarm, you'll have tried to do it in the big ring to impress some bird Laughing Laughing Laughing

IF only.....did it on my "granny" ring.... Embarassed Anyway while I've been at work I have sort of confirmed that it is Iliotibial Band Syndrome (not Irritable bowel Syndrome!!) as the pain becomes more apparent when I walk downstairs...So look like I'll be hanging up my helmet for a while!!! Crying or Very sad

Bad news, get well soon Denny.

Maybe rest it 'till the New Year, then start as you mean to go on.

Oh don't worry..I'll be spinning up ASAFP!!!!! it's just the waiting that's the killer!! patience isn't my style!!

I'm not in absolute agony with it, I think I've caught it at the right time as the pain is more of an annoyance as it's only moderate...but like the experts say rest, rest and more rest so it could be the new year before I'm rolling again! Sad

Well it seems that I was wrong about leaving it till the new year....woke up this morning to no pain in me knee Very Happy So I'm gonna take the risk and have a spin out on Monday as I'm on a long weekend (got to do stuff around the house first!!!) so hopefully I should be able to commute next week....

It feels as though I've had a leg cut off not being able to ride as the weather today was perfect, so imagine my dismay when the wife reminded me that a skip was turning up at 0900 Shocked so I could empty all the rubbish out the back garden (we're in the middle of having a new kitchen put in!!). Anyway my reward...out on me bike on Monday!! Very Happy Wink
