Is it worth a look though, Denny, Wink

I'm not so sure, I'm certainly not a big fan of this type of, what I call, "social training".

For instance, in session 1, what real purpose do the adductor exercises serve, or the glutes cable pull. And why seperate the 2 quadricep exercises so, also why seperate the hamstring exercises, using a hamstring machine and then later doing lunges, surely a stiff leg deadlift would be more beneficial for the whole body than a isolation exercise, particularly for cyclists.

And don't get me started on session 2, particularly that crazy wrist exercise.
I'm not advocating crazy bodybuilding here, but there are much more productive moves out there, which can be done very simply, with very little risk, that would be more beneficial than this sort of program.

I call this "social training" because it is most likely to be performed at a pace which allows plenty of discussion and debate with other gym users, so there is little mental focus on the training going on, and little scope for any real progression.

Do I think this type of training or this program itself would work, I'm afraid I would have to say no!!!

Well done Denny for posting it, though, from my point of view it only goes to highlight some of the "stuff" that is out there, and hey, time is precious, I've been lucky enough to learn from my mistakes!!!!!

Okay I'll stand corrected on this one Embarassed to be honest I only give it a fleeting glance, but it had the magic words "weights" and "cyclist" in the same sentence.

So moral of the story....have a look through the site before posting the link Embarassed

No, it is a good link Denny, if only to get someone started with weights, and posting it has stimulated debate, it's what the forum exists for Wink

The problem with training is the mass of dis-information that is out there.

Ask yourself this:

How long would you have followed this routine before boredom set in?

How would you measure progression?

When is it right to increase the weight, or increase the reps?

How much rest should there be between sets, and exercises, and what should be the ratio of muscle contraction during the set.

etc., etc. I just think articles like these leave a lot more questions unanswered, and you would be better off just going out on your bike for a good ride, maybe jumping off it every now and then and carrying it if you want to build your wrists up Laughing Laughing Laughing
