Managed to get out for another very early morning blast today on my Marin Eldridge.

Fast and hard was the pace, only had 2 hours so I had a blast around Gibber Woods, looking for climbs, and really trying to push hard on the level.

At the moor top it looked like rain threatening and I'd misjudged the temperature only putting fingerless gloves on which meant that after 45 minutes I was finding it extremely difficult to change gear as my hands were that cold Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Anyway, push come to shove I managed about 23 mile in 1 hour 40 minutes, but on getting home and giving the bike a good clean and lube, which it dam well needed after yesterdays ride over the Quakers Causeway, I discovered the rear wheel to be "rocking" sideways in the frame, only slightly but enough to be annoying. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

So, off comes wheel, out comes axle and bearings, good clean, re-grease, bearings back in, and replace axle and tighten cones/locknut.

Job done Very Happy Very Happy

Re fit wheel to bike and check only to find front chainrings very loose Embarassed Embarassed

Gets Allen key and nips up all bolts Wink

Job finally done Very Happy


Writes memo to self:

"Book Marin in for some quality service/checkover time as soon as I get some time off"
