Great, sorry about the initial climb on foot every body but I gaurantee it will be worth it.

The alternative is to ride through the forest and climb Jacksons Bank as we have done on other rides but there is a lot of logging activity at the moment in that area and I think we would waste a lot of energy trying to plug through the mud to get to Jacksons Bank.

Some photo's of when we did this route back in July for a fast paced ride, can be found here:

Well, since joining this forum, the first two forum rides I have come across (Oct/Nov) have been for weekends where both the kids are with me and the GF, and not with the GF's ex.

I normally like to get out and about the weekend where we don't have the kids, it makes things a lot easier to organise, but given I have not ridden anything in the NY moors before, and given Winter is rolling in, I am going to have to try and arrange a swap.

Put me down provisionally for this one, a chance to put some screen names to faces Very Happy

With a moderately fit group, we'd be looking at around 3hours to 3 1/2 hours to complete this ride.

However, this route is quite exposed and hopefully the weather on the day will be good.

It may be necessary if the weather is very poor however, to review the route once we reach Bloworth Crossing, and make a decision based on that as whether to continue on with the ride or head over to Baysdale and complete a shorter version of the ride.

I'm hoping for good weather as this is a really "sweet" ride, as "Upforit" put it Wink

I hope you can get along Grant Smile
