Hi guys,

Been looking for an ultra light weight HT for a while now & came across the radon, has anybody brought one of these or had any dealings with them?

Cheers Martyn

Had no problems.

I have had my Radon Slide 9.0 HD for just under 2 years and it's a fantastic bit of kit. 150mm travel Pike RCT3 dual position fork, monarch rc3 plus, reverb stealth, X0 carbon cranks, Sram guide RS brakes. The specification for the money is superb and had no problems buying from Germany. I visited the Radon stand at the cycle show last year in Birmingham and they had the jealous on show - it was seriously light, lighter than my road bike! Radon are not as popular as Canyon but they are starting to become more well known. Manon Carpenter is riding for them now.

If I was looking for an aggro HT then maybe a bird zero would come into play but I have my fs cube for that, looking at light weight HT & torn between 2

http://www.radon-bikes.de/en/mountainbike/hardtail/jealous/jealous-80/

https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/mtb/exceed/exceed-cf-sl-7-9.html

Both are pretty much the same spec but I must admit I prefer the colour of the canyon (I know that's a girl thing) 😉

I also demo'd a cannondale fsi carbon 4 which I loved but the demo bike had so much uprated gear on it (xtr, carbon wheels, carbon lefty fork) that it didn't really resemble the bike you would get, it was more like a 5-6 grand dream machine 😆

Out of the two I like the Radon more - horses for courses. Either way they are both excellent bikes. My old Canyon Nerve is still running well as a bike for my son - never had to replace any parts unless the wore out or were damaged.

Hopefully this doesn't come across as trollish, or offensive TUCKY, but ....
When you say you have not had to replace any parts unless they were worn or damaged, erm... aren't they the only times you would actually have to replace parts anyway ?
Other than if they wore out, or were damaged, the only time you would replace them is simply out of choice or upgrading ?

Fair point, that didn't come across as I meant. I was trying to say that there was not a need to upgrade from the initial set of components, unless it wore out or you wanted to.

If you're looking for fast and light I wouldn't rule out Focus, they have a very impressive pedigree on the world cup circuit and look the Biz.

I came very close to getting one of the O1E full suss models but couldn't settle on a size in the end.

Did like the look of that but I'm looking for xt 2x11 & the focus in that spec is bright bloody green lol
