Depends on what you want to pay, Westbrooks in Stokesley are doing a good MTB shoe, which is ok for road use too at £40, I can't remember the make unfortunately.

I'd recommend any of these three:

http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5360032805&N=P earl%20Izumi%20Vagabond%20M3%20Shoes

http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5360033176&n=d hb%20M1%20Shoes

http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5360027186&n=S himano%20Shimano%20M075%20Shoes

I use the Pearl Izumi Vagabond, but with the ratchet tightener, only because Wiggle f**d up & sent me the next model up, to my benefit Very Happy. Needless to say I was happy with my purchase, said nothing & received no further recompense. Wink

Cheers,

Sean

That's it, SeanO has reminded me, the ones in Westbrook's are PEARL IZUMI'S, Wink

Not bad for the price.

I have Shimano M037 and found them excellent for multi purpose cycling.

My Pearl Izumi have mesh on the upper so can be a bit wet & cold in winter but they are half a size too big so I just put 2 pairs of socks on. I've been meaning get some seal skinz socks which should sort the problem.
Try and look for a good solid toe box on shoes like on the Pearl Izumi's. I've booted boulders while pedaling with mine and not felt a thing thankfully.

My mate has some SPDs that look like walking boots. He rates them but I think they may get a bit too warm in summer. Plus I couldn't get away with having laces, I'd get them caught and cruded up to hell.

Cheers,

Sean

Yes, they should do.

They will say if they are SPD compatable, or LOOK or TIME compatable on the shoes or box. Most shoes now are SPD and usually come with the cleats provided.

Are these the ones you got, if so, how much did you pay?

No, I don't know how much they are, I was just wondering what you paid, they look a damn nice shoe that's all, compared to the Pearl ones I had.
