Fitness? No, but I'm working on it.
Skill? Not any more; I'm old, fat and scared. Still faster downhill that a lot of the XC whippets who pass me on the climbs. _________________ '96 Zaskar LE (now the wife's)

Today was freaking awesome!
Three laps of the blue at FoD, 19.5 miles, 2017 feet climbed, 41 trophies. Straavaaaaa!!!
The bike is soooo good. Totally planted and inspires so much confidence. The Mattocs are so supple it's untrue and the back end, while suffering from more pedal bob than the Spesh Camber, offers so much traction. I am using all the travel though, so I bought some volume reducers from Sprung which I'll fit before the next ride.
There are a couple of flies in the ointment though; I wasn't sure about the saddle before the ride started but by the end the grips were more of an issue. My hands were numb, I was struggling to change gear and it was actually painful to let go of the bars! The saddle is shocking though...
Straavaaaa!!!!
And the arty shot...

Love it mate and I'm glad you liked the way it rides too.
Contact points are a strange one, what works for some doesn't for others. Luckily grips are a relatively cheap thing to change to improve the experience. _________________ It's not the big that eat the small, but the fast that eat the slow...

I'm loving everything about that bike, and your verdict is a carbon copy of every other owner of one.
The only glitch is your missus's purchase(dropper)
I had one for about a month, and I never used it once.Down or Uphill, and I would be surprised if anyone uses it to fulll effect.
I knocked 60 quid off it and Gumtreed its ass.
So unnecessary it beggars belief.
But the bike ?

I'm still getting to grips with the dropper but to be honest I haven't ridden anywhere extreme enough to need it yet. Once I get a few more mile under my belt I'll be better placed to make a decision on it. _________________ '96 Zaskar LE (now the wife's)
