My Titus El Guapo V3 frame arrived from On-One today so thought I'd start a build thread. After much deliberation I decided to go with the orange and I'm really pleased I did as the colour looks great in the metal. Here are a few pictures:

I also got On-One to fit one of their Smoothie mixer headsets for the tapered headtube. This can take a standard 1 1/8" or a 1 1/8-1 1/2" tapered steerer just by using a different crown race.

Also ordered some On-One headset spacers to match.

I had some money lying round in my Paypal account so also bought some 750mm Easton Havoc 20mm rise bars.

Oh I've also ordered some grips from Superstar but they havent arrived yet.

That's as far as I have got up to now, just have to order the rest of my components. It's going to be a slow build over the next few months as I can't justify spending loads of cash all at once as we have just had a baby and are getting married next year so most of my spare cash is heading that way Wink

I have seen most of the components I am going to buy though so the final spec will be something like this:

Titus El Guapo Frame (small)
2013 Rockshox Revelation 150mm 15mm Maxle
Stans Flow Rims on Superstar Switch Evo hubs or Hope hubs (undecided yet)
Shimano XT brakes
Rotors 203mm Front 180mm Rear
Shimano XT Crankset 2 x 10
Shimano XT Front Mech
Shimano XT Rear Mech
Shimano XT Cassette
Superstar Nano's or Shimano Saint Pedals
Shimano XT 10 speed shifters
Easton Havoc 750mm 20mm rise bars
Easton Havoc 65mm Stem
Easton Havoc seatpost
Selle Italia C2 flow saddle
Superstar Grips
Hope seatpost clamp

Probably missed something off that list but you get the idea Laughing

Anyway, I'll keep the thread updated with any progress. I just can't wait to get the thing finished to see how it rides Cool

Looking great so far, I'll be watching this with interest - really love that orange colour, you definitely went the right way with that choice!

Thanks again. Yeah the colour does look a lot like the focus ST colour, has a slight pearl effect to it Smile

As that dog would say on the Churchill ad, oohhhhh yesss Very Happy

Colour looks great in the flesh (as opposed to the On One pics if you know what I mean).

Slow builds are good, I had a 3 door Cosworth in a paint shop for a full strip and paint for nearly 12 months, was only supposed to be there for 4 weeks max as a late night/overtime job. The extra time it spent there gave me the chance to buy better parts for it that I wouldn't have been able to afford in a shorter timescale.

Any idea on colour scheme yet?

Thanks matey. Yeah the pictures on the On-One website really don't do it justice. Really pleased with my choice Smile

Yeah, going for the slow build will allow me to buy better components than if I were just to buy it all at once. As for colour scheme, will be going with a white fork, with the bars, stem, seatpost and wheels etc in black Smile

I'm not a fan of full sussers but, for some reason, have loved the look of the El Guapo since I first clapped eyes on it a while ago.

I fancied the chrome/silver frame but think I may now have a soft spot for the orange..

Looks like the build will be a real nice one Very Happy

Maybe I'll start my own (after I've finished my SS and 456 and also built a 29er)

Good luck fella Smile

Really nice Very Happy Although personally I would say plug some beefier forks into it i.e. Lyriks, Fox 36's, Marzocchi 55's. The reviews seem to point that way.
