Well after going to watch/photograph/video rallies for 15 years, I finally got the chance to compete for the first time last Saturday, co-driving for a friend of mine who came over from Kenya to do the event! Didn't make any major c*ck ups which I was a bit worried about, unfortunately we slid off the road backwards and there was nobody around to help us back on - we got going eventually but were too late to be classified as finishers. We did give it 110% through the final spectator stage and took the big jump flat out! (Pic attached I hope). Glad I did it and maybe will do it again sometime.

We did it to try to raise awareness of the "Hands off our Elephants" project, which aims to try to show the world just how bad the poaching problem is in Africa. We'll be featured on Motors TV at the end of the month Cool

I've been reading Guy Martins autobiography at work, during breaks, & it mentions his love of the Volvo Amazon (B122/B123)

I too, share that liking, be it the 2-door saloon, or the estate

Having done a bit of Googling, it's a great looking beast, if a bit impractical compared to a standard one

Lucky blighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not mine, but I spotted this whilst I was going to my running club meet-up last night

It appears to be the same one that a neighbour of one of my club-mates had, but he sold it, & bought a Merc-B instead Rolling Eyes

There was also a Monaro around here, the coupe derivative

I've got to admit. I'm looking at the Superb estate, as there'll be some good offers soon, with a new model on the way

This one;

(had my Octavia estate since March 2012, & it's great)

My neighbours have one, theirs is the 8-seater (a Combi??)

Apart from a slightly harsh ride in the rear-most seats, it's great, & still has a huge load-space
Turned into a 5-seater, & you'd lose a Dog in there
