Yes that old chestnut. I only ask because the situation seems to have changed and the wired varient is now more expensive for my chosen brand of schwalbe lugano.

I could imagine wire being easier to install and have also read horror stories of folding tyres unseating their bead during cornering.

I'm also aware of the weight benefit of folding. But I would ask are folding made of higher quality materials? Is there kevlar in the bead? It would seem to me that steel beads might cost more to manufacture and ship but generally might be the best design.

Kevlar bead is considered better than wired. They're easier to take on and off the rim and weigh less. It's only like to roll off the rim at very low pressures.

I owned over ten different types of folding tyres over the years and not once did they ever unseat
