I had a squeak that has been bugging me for over a week. Every time i put serious pressure on the pedals the frame creaked like 2 old sail boats shagging on a brass bed.

The noise was driving me insane, not to mention the embarrassment factor was turned up to eleven. Embarassed Embarassed

I thought crank or bottom bracket at first or even pedals, so striped and refitted using copper grease on anything that might make a noise; then i found i could duplicate the noise by locking up the back brake and pushing the bike forward causing the frame to flex. This had me worried that perhaps there was a crack in the frame but no cracks to be found.

i figured that rear skewer tightness would have a bearing on rear triangle flex so I tightened the already tight skewer to FT then a bit more. so tight that i had to grunt to close it. noise nearly all gone wahay!!. popped the wheel out and copper greased the drop outs re fitted the wheel with more grunting and there it was gone. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

any one else had this issue with a triple butted Hydro aluminium frame? or is it me? Embarassed Embarassed
