Hi Greg,

I am riding this at the moment, it's a Titanium frame with a full XTR groupset and Rock Shox Dart 3's at the front with remote handlebar mounted poploc. It's a really nice machine and about 6 years old now.

And when I don't feel like riding that, I'm riding this:

It's a Marin Eldridge Grade with Answer Manitou Forks, 19 inch Steel frame and a set of Smart lights up front for night riding, this bike is about 8 year old now, hard to believe I know, but is a superb ride.

If it's not too checky John, how much wonga you got to spend?

Very pleased with my spesh fsr, they have a new design out now even lighter, http://www.bikescene.co.uk/variation.php?model=72

if these are a bit pricy £1500, they do a cheeper versions the XC with 100mm travel, still quite a bike with the entry level at £900

You guessed it I'm a spec man Laughing

Denny is this the frame you trashed? And did you fit the braided hoses your self? Are they any good?

Cheers

Noooo The frame I trashed was a Giant Terrago totally ill equipped for the route I was on but you live and learn!!.

I put the hoses on myself. The hardest part was bleeding the sodding things!!! Wink

I very much like the look and specification of the Spec FSR's but have not read that many favourable reviews of their rear suspension, which everybody seems to find a bit "vague", at the end of the day if you are going for a full susser then it's the rear sus unit that must make or break the surely.

I know I was certainly put off by the reviews I read. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

What's anybody else think Question

Yeh John, I like the GT's because not only do they perform well and look good, but the majority of them are well priced too!

Hi Gunna, where was the reviews mate? I think MBR gave it 8/10, was a long time ago.

I am really pleased with my rear suspention, its the fox air can with pro peddle which helps climbing and also has the rebound adjust. I think full bouncers have come a long way....

I made the transition around 2000 to full bounce with a marin rock springs which at the time I thought was the dogs, it had no rear adjustment (sid air xc can). But the FSR is miles better, new technology.

I guess its personal preference and riding style. She has been to Glenntres 3 times now and she hasn't let me down Smile Smile !

Cheers

Greg
