I have a set of Shimano M445 and a set of Avid Elixir 3 and I'm trying to decide on which to keep for my Cube. The M445 are already fitted but it isn't a hard task fitting the others.

All comments/votes/advice welcome.

Thanks

not used 3s but if they are as good as my elixr 5s keep them. i take it they will be on a single crown bike buddy, not the beast so i doubt there will be much difference imo.

elixrs for me.

I took M445's off my Giant and replaced them with Elixir R's, not long after I got it as I can only describe the M455's as "very unsuitable" for fairly hard XC riding. Elixir's are on a different planet

Thanks for the comments guys. It's looking like the Elixir 3's are going to win this, but they're going to c*ck up my colour scheme. Embarassed

Yeah they'll be going on my Cube so will be for XC use only.

Be prepared for pads rubbing discs kolas if they are anything like the elixr 5. There isn't much clearance . Mine are ok now but took a while to set em up.

Cheers Daz. I'll be sure to set the pads fully apart before fitting.

Think I'll stick the M445's on the gf's bike and sell her Hayes. Very Happy

No I've had no issues with them but if the Elixir's are better then I'll upgrade my Cube and then stick the M445's on the gf's bike as an upgrade to her Hayes brakes. Very Happy
